✨ Class Description ✨
Excited to start animating with Procreate Dreams + Procreate to tell your own stories, but just not super sure where to start? Are you interested in creating your own Shorts, Reels, and Animated Memes, but need some help and guidance getting started? Then this is the class for you!
I’ve gotten to know the Procreate Dreams app (though there’s always more to learn), and have found methods of using it to create my own Animated Shorts/Reels. In my experience, for really clean and beautiful animation, much of the work is completed in the Procreate app for iPad first, before transferring all the pieces over to Dreams, and using the award-winning features there to make everything appear incredibly cinematic!

These lessons are collaborative. I will help YOU turn YOUR idea into an animated reality! I will have an overhead view of my iPad, as well as Screen Share options available, so that you will be able to see exactly how I navigate through the applications, and make discussion of your project idea easier.
You do not need any prior experience with Procreate Dreams or the Procreate app for iPad to take this class, though basic drawing skills and knowledge of the “Procreate” app will certainly help you in this process. However, I am happy to help you start by creating simple animations, then work your way up to more complex projects!

Please Note
Procreate Pocket is NOT a substitute for the Procreate app for iPad in this class. The work we’ll be doing is much too complicated for this app. Pocket, though a great option for some things, is much better suited to minor edits on the go and not cinematic projects such as those that will be attempted in these lessons.
Procreate is only available on iPad. Please check that Procreate & Procreate Dreams are both compatible with your iPad model, prior to purchasing. The Model Name can be found in your iPad Settings, under About, and the App Store should provide information on currently compatible models.

Things to Note
The Procreate app for iPad and the new animation app Procreate Dreams are used (often together) in this class. They can be purchased and downloaded from the Apple App Store.
If a learner would like to record their own mock audio to use in an animation, they should be able to use the Camera app on the iPad itself (for the microphone), but may need an iPhone that is Airdrop accessible on hand as a backup.
Learners must have a separate device for joining the Zoom call.
Prior to Storyboarding, when writing the Screenplay for their animation, we may use a Google Doc link. If this is the case, I will send a link in class that we can collaborate on during our meeting(s). We will possibly also upload the Storyboard drawn in Procreate to this Google Doc to stay organized.
Some learners may benefit from Parent support during class.
